Three Announcements:

#1 Riverside Regathers on June 7th

Though we will worship from a distance for a little longer, Riverside will regather on June 7th at our normal worship time, 10 am!
Please note:

  • We will only meet for worship:
    No Foundations study
    No coffee service
No nursery (parents are asked to care for children in foyer or fellowship hall – speakers will carry audio)
    No bulletins
  • We will practice social distancing and ask you to show love to the congregation:
Enter the building only through the main entrance (the building will be cleaned/sanitized ahead of time)
    Refrain from hugs/handshakes/”holy kisses”
Sit at least 6 feet apart (all directions) from anyone who is not an immediate family member (please move up and spread out)
Only one person in a bathroom at a time (knock on closed doors, leave doors open after use) (note: no drinking fountain)
    Use hand sanitizing stations frequently
  • Stay home if you feel attending would put you in unnecessary danger (a video recording (YouTube) will be posted on Sunday afternoon for you to watch/listen)

#2 Volunteer to Help Pasco Children (through GAL Program)

Alex Regan works with Florida’s Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program which represents the best interest of children alleged to be abused, abandoned, or neglected who are involved in court proceedings. This means advocacy to assist the court with decisions that impact the life of a child. This program is looking for volunteers that can help by being the advocate for one or more of these children in the dependency system. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact Alex at (email) or (305) 764-2345.

Please join us for prayer on Thursday evening at 7 pm via Zoom. We also have a sweet time of fellowship as we get to see each other’s faces! These last for an hour or less, so connect and pray: LINK, Meeting ID: 998 2692 4550, Password: RBCPrayer

Today’s Worship

Call to Worship: Psalm 96:1-6

“Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.”

Worship in Song:
Jesus is Alive
Your Love Never Fails

Gospel Affirmation: Romans 8:10-11

“But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”

Worship in Song:
Not in Me
Before the Throne of God Above
Give Me Faith (Lord I Need You)

Pastoral Prayer

Worship with the Word:
Matthew 7:21-27 “Lip Service or Life Service”

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Do you offer Jesus lip service or life service?

#1 Because a day is coming when you will stand before him.

(Note: Matthew 25:31-46)

#2 Because on that day, many will realize their self-deception.

#3 Because the Kingdom of Heaven is for the obedient only.

(Note: James 2:14-18, 26.)

#4 Because on that day many will be ordered to depart from him.

Questions to Consider:

1) Do you need to evaluate yourself before God?

2) Do you need to make some decisions or repent towards God?

Benediction: (from) Colossians 1:10

“May you walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”
